Frederick Bernas co-directed this short documentary about a group of young ballerinas, from one of the most violent favelas in Rio de Janeiro, who use dance to strive for a brighter future. It was released by VICE with support from the Pulitzer Center and racked up millions of views, which led to a successful crowdfunding campaign that helped the community build a safe space in their neighborhood.
