Frederick Bernas co-directed, produced and edited this hybrid documentary, which profiles the groundbreaking Spanish dancer Manuel Liñán as he comes out to challenge convention by pursuing his love of performing dressed as a woman. The film started life as a true shoestring production, before being acquired by The New Yorker, receiving a grant from the Pulitzer Center and picking up awards at several international festivals.
Frederick was also one of two cinematographers and composed parts of the soundtrack, closely integrating the process with editing and sound design.
